Brandon Hogancamp, Director

At 25, Brandon, a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft, New Jersey, spent his four years working in the community, mentoring and tutoring disadvantaged children after school, accumulating 200 hours of service.

For three years, Brandon was a camp counselor at Tyler Hill Camp, where his responsibilities included caring for children ages 10-12 in an overnight camp environment.

He was tasked with designing programs and games to teach and entertain the children he was in charge of throughout the seven-week session each summer.

In 2019, he was a Group Leader/Stand-in Division Leader, managing twelve camp counselors, human resources, and event planning.

Brandon is also a Certified Archery Instructor and was an Archery Specialist and Fishing Instructor for Tyler Hill Camp.

His vast work experience includes six years as a teacher at St. Dominic’s Academy, a Montessori School, in Honesdale, Pennsylvania, and working alongside SDA’s director in a classroom of thirty children ages 5-12.

Brandon spent two years in a five-year accelerated MBA program until he decided teaching was his passion and changed his course of study to early childhood education.

He's currently finishing his degree in Early Childhood Education/Montessori.

Elyse Montgomery, Head Counselor (4-5 Year Old)

Elyse is thrilled to join Camp White Stag for her first summer—and brings with her four years of experience from other sports-based day camps. A natural leader and lifelong animal lover, Elyse spent 10 years in 4-H raising pigs and dairy cows, and is now a student-athlete playing basketball at the University of Scranton, where she’s majoring in Marketing.

CPR-certified and always full of energy, Elyse is excited to lead fun outdoor games, encourage creativity through crafts, and maybe even get her hands dirty in the garden. Her favorite part of camp so far? The epic fort-building, which she can’t wait to see firsthand.

This summer, Elyse will be leading the youngest campers and is most excited to watch them grow, build friendships, and thrive. And yes—she’ll probably tell you all about her three dogs: a border collie, a golden retriever, and a mini golden doodle!

Aiden Collins, Head Counselor (Teens)

Meet Aiden Collins, a cherished member of our Camp White Stag family.

Currently a high school student and athlete with aspirations in accounting or civil engineering, Aiden steps into his role at Camp White Stag with two years of experience in camp counseling and child engagement. Aiden is trained in emergency response with his CPR certification and also excels in a variety of sports, including football, basketball, and track, bringing a dynamic energy to our camp’s activities.

A nature enthusiast, Aiden loves sharing his hobbies like fishing, hiking, and sports with our campers. His energy and dedication to interactive activities like "running the bases" embody the spirit of our camp community.

In his own words, Aiden expresses gratitude to families for entrusting him with their children's summer experiences. At Camp White Stag, Aiden is more than a counselor; he's a mentor and friend, ready for another season of adventure and fun.

Rylan Montgomery – Head Counselor (Group 1 ages 6-11)

Now entering his fourth year working with kids, Rylan brings energy, experience, and a love for the outdoors to Camp White Stag. A student at Penn State University Park, he’s currently earning his bachelor’s degree in Business Management.

CPR-certified and always ready for action, Rylan thrives on leading sports games, organizing hikes, and sharing his top-notch fort-building skills.

A longtime member of 4-H, Rylan has spent the past 10 years showing pigs and dairy heifers, which brings a unique touch to his work at our agriculture-based camp. What he loves most about Camp White Stag is how it gives kids space to grow, explore, and have fun—all without needing to be far from home.

Rylan is excited to welcome both familiar and new faces this summer.

Brice Hogancamp – General Counselor

Brice has been part of the Camp White Stag family since the very beginning—first as a camper in 2021, and now as a dedicated counselor entering his third summer on staff. A student at CCHS in Hurleyville, NY, Brice is currently completing college-level coursework with plans to dive deeper into his passions after graduation.

Certified in Archery and concussion-trained, Brice brings focus, creativity, and care to every activity—especially when it comes to teaching bushcraft, tree identification, and outdoor cooking. His favorite camp games include Capture the Flag, where teamwork takes center stage, and Archery, which he believes reveals a surprising level of concentration in kids.

Brice loves connecting with both returning and new campers each season, helping them feel at home and confident in the outdoors.

Gabriel Wasner, Senior Counselor

Meet our incredible Senior Counselor, Gabriel Wasner!

As Gabriel dives into his third year at Camp White Stag, he brings a fresh and engaging vibe to camp counseling that we absolutely love.

Currently studying criminal justice at SUNY Sullivan, Gabriel's got a knack for storytelling and a love for sharing cool facts about history. He's like our very own camp encyclopedia, and we're here for it!

His adventurous spirit rubs off on everyone around him. We can't help but admire his dedication to showing our campers the beauty of nature. Fun fact: Gabe is secretly a rain enthusiast. He finds peace and beauty in those rainy days that most of us grumble about.

Gabriel believes that Camp White Stag is a place “where kids can experience the outside world allowing a free and growing mindset to emerge.” This season, he's inviting all our campers to join him on a journey of exploration, discovery, and loads of fun.
